It’s been a few years since the MOONDEELA creativity train has made it to the station. It seems that work, chaos, break-ups, love, marriage and dogs take up quite a bit of time…that’s life, isn’t it. It’s a beautiful thing! But, with the addition of a new home, with twice the space, my crafting desires have returned. Not only do I have enough storage for all of my crafting goodies, I have work spaces!! El Husbando whipped up a rolling cutting/work table last night…stud. The new handbags and creations have evolved from the original Tova (as seen to the right) and offer some new funky details. Stay tuned... :) Photos will follow soon...if you know how I "work" in my craft room, then you know it's never suitable for photographing. :)
The holidays are fast approaching and homemade gifts go over very well for some people…so I offered up crafting supplies to my friends every Thursday night. Last week we made fabric flowers to embellish handbags. Tonight’s agenda: homemade sugar scrub and lip balms. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? And superbly easy! I was googling additional lip balm recipes and came across this
YIKES. Shortening and Kool-Aid as a lip balm recipe. Yuck. I don't even keep shortening in the house, let alone smear it on my lips.
A few years ago I purchased some fabulous supplies from Brambleberry and still have the lip balm base, colors and essential oils. Here is a sample of what I made then...cute, but not impressive. The lip gloss was hard, not the glossy goodness I imagined. So...the goal tonight is to surpass my expectations for fabulous lip gloss/balm/butter...whatever!
