Wedding Planning For Tomboys, Who Want to Have a Girlie Day.

Why isn't this manual available for my consultation...might make life a little easier right now. Actually, choosing a venue and a date...and sticking with it - might be the best bet! Then the other stuff follows along, right?

My most favorite tidbits from planning so far...the "wanna be a flower girl" conversation with my six year old niece:

Me: Hi Midget! How are you?
Kathleen: I'm not a midget anymore.
Me: Well, you're still shorter than me, so you are my midget. :) I was calling to ask you if you wanted to be in a wedding.
Kathleen: Oh yes, my Mom mentioned that you and Bobby Roe were getting married. (WTH - what six year old says this??)
Me: Really, she "mentioned" it? Well, would you like to be the flower girl?
Kathleen: Yeah. I even have the shoes!
Me: Really, you have the shoes already? What do they look like?
Kathleen: Oh! They are white, with heels and little flowers on them (I can picture her twirling herself and the phone cord around) - but I don't have a dress!
Me: Well, good news - you and Aunt Sarah can pick them out together!

That conversation made my day...I just thought I would "mention" it. :)

And my other fave tidbit so far...in our "we're getting married" conversation with Mom & Pops Dahlstrom, Kirk dryly told us that Bobby was "another mouth for him to feed" and he was "jumping for joy". LA-MOW.

We'll call this the pre-engagement photo...says a lot about us really. :)
