Life Happens

For months now, my weekly reminder for "Blog Post" has been popping up. I'm immediately excited to write about the crazy on-goings, then something else comes up and the blog posts get pushed to the bottom of the list again. As I look at my list of "Drafts" from the last few months, I have to laugh... Here's a synopsis of what you missed, or didn't miss. :)

Impossible Baby Gear (March 21st)
On March 21st, I was writing about "impossible baby gear" - the theme of the post was about how we were prepping our household for the end result of our adoption process. We were searching out baby gear designed to make life easy. Except, if you buy one of those new play yard dealios like we did. I asked el husband several times where the instructions were. "There aren't any", he responded. And the darned thing wouldn't assemble like the good ol' playpens from our era.

Stuck, we were stuck. Thank goodness, Aunt Sarah was there when we were messing with it and googled this:
No kidding, it's easy...after you watch the video. And, not surprisingly, the instructions were stuck to the bottom of the darned thing. Baha.

Holy Crap, We Have A Baby! (April 20th)
Was the theme of my drafted blog post a month later. Little did we know, that days after we were attempting to assemble the play yard for our future child, our future child was born. This thought gives me goose bumps...we were just moseying along thinking that we would be waiting forever and BOOM. Yes, boom...it happened that fast and in that month afterward, we were in a daze awaiting our "relinquishment period" to be up. We were walking on eggshells, afraid to answer the phone for fear of a "change of heart". But, that call didn't come and we are still in a daze and fumbling around like the new parents that we are. I'll post the adoption story in a separate post, but in the meantime...can you say eternally grateful?

Brain Overload (May 21st)
The theme (obviously), was directly to tied to every single crazy thing happening in life. Baby, work, life, etc. Perhaps, it would've come across as more of an emotional overload. What is that quote...

Yes, this is true...we're so busy making plans for the future and then something happens. One little tweak, kink, call it what you will - and life is forever changed. Sometimes it's a little thing and sometimes it's a GINORMOUS thing. I don't know about you, but I think it's time I slow down and watch the little things too.
