Let's Get Our Sh*t Together, Humans
It's time...it's time to bring back some courtesy, kindness, politeness, respect, understanding, empathy, etc. My sister told me a story that made my blood boil. In King County (if you know, you know), a friend of hers was grocery shopping with her kiddos. An individual followed her around the store shouting at her to put her mask on and even went so far as to pull on her hood while hollering at her. Thank goodness she had a sense of humor and was able to ignore this behavior - not from a child...but from an adult.
In WHAT WORLD is this appropriate behavior? When did we go from "I'm doing [this]...here's why"...to "I'm going to harass the shit out of you until you comply with what I believe"? Yes, because this method is soooo effective.
Like we tell our eight year old..."worry about yourself" - it is not up to you to decide what other people are doing. Our eight year old gets it...she can ONLY control her self/body/actions. It's not up to her to decide what anyone else is doing. Nor is it any of her business.
So...I ask again, when did it become okay for someone - ANYONE - to get up in another human's face to dictate what they should be doing. And having the audacity to actually touch someone - we've gone off the deep end.
If YOU are worried about your body and you've done "things" to protect your own body, why are you worried about/harassing other people? You've done your job for your body. Those people "not complying" with what you believe are not affecting you...you've done your job, right?
It seems like we all need a refresher in "olden days" Kindergarten - where we learn some manners and take naps. Or perhaps, we need to blast Mr. Rogers on every news channel for a month or so.
Whatever it is...we need to become human again, remember how to be kind, and worry about our own actions. Let's get our shit together, humans...before it's too late.
