I Think My Kiddo is Part Blood Hound...

How else can I explain an exhausted, knocked out, sleeping angel toddler suddenly jumping up (from a dead sleep) when I leave the room? This happened all weekend long (a long three day weekend), not kidding. We wore her out; running, jumping, chasing goats, riding ponies, taking nature walks, drinking from puddles, stomping in her boots, picking up large objects and moving them, etc. She would pass out at a decent hour – that’s we call 9:30PM in our house – and I would start the cleaning process. You know the one: the super-silent cleaning process that tidies up the toy-nado and the evening’s dropped clothing, food, and water bottles. Within two minutes of my working so quietly, you could hear a pin drop - her head pops up off the couch. I try to avoid eye contact at all costs, because that’s when the “why did you leave me” scrunchy eyes begin and the “come hold me” arms come up. (Mom, I know you’re reading this…and yes, she is spoiled – no judging.) At one point, I even ducked under the bar so she couldn’t see me. Then I heard the tip-tap of her running to the kitchen. Then the process starts over again…good thing I had two suitcases of cheap beer to get me through three long days.  Okay, I admit, it would seem that she’s probably more spoiled than bloodhound…but I guess we won’t know until we take her “hunting for wabbits”.

The long weekend was helpful for the organization of the house…we* were able to get the dining room turned into a playroom for the kiddos. Yep, we’re missing a couple letters from the alphabet…it took me over a year to mount them and realize that the “P” and “W” were missing. And we somehow turned the front room into a game/poker room…I’m sure el husbando was a little surprised when he returned home at 2AM. It’s pretty rad and may look organized…just don’t look in our garage.
