Rockin' the 80's

I have a soft spot for all things 80's...even the absurd.  In recent years, we've hosted several parties with an 80's theme.  My favorite of all was the 80's prom party a few years ago.  We required everyone to dress in a prom dress or similar attire for the boys and pose for an awkward prom photo.  It was a hoot and everyone participated in some manner.  As you can see from the photo, we really got into it, right down to some lacy gloves and sausage curl bangs!

Last week I went back to my 80's/early 90's roots and got myself a perm.  Yep, I did that.  I needed something new and if I despise it, I'll just chop it off.  It's just hair...it will grow back.  :)  I am digging the new, odd hair that I haven't enjoyed since at least my senior year of high school (sans sausage curl bangs).  However, this morning started off with two (bald) dudes in my office scoffing at my newly "frizzled" hair (is that even a word??).  Did I fire back an insult in regards to their shiny domes?  Nope, I just smiled and thought of how much I like the 80's/90's look.  :)

Uber Fun!

I really dig tulle and tutus...we've been whipping some up lately and they are way too fun.  In fact, I tried to wear a tutu to flag football on Saturday (along with my smelly perm hair), but it was kay-boshed by the refs.  Really, who's pulling my flag, I'm a defensive rusher.  Anyway, in honor of this lovely decade, I think I need to whip up some funky skirts for the trunk show.  Here's a sample of what I'm thinking...
