Adoption Awareness Month
Did you know that November is Adoption Awareness Month? I wasn't until I became "aware"...hence the name. My husband and I attended an amazing adoption workshop at Catholic Social Services last weekend. It was a very eye opening experience and brought to mind many different options we hadn't yet considered on our road to building a family. The workshop covered infant adoption in Alaska and some international adoption information.
In addition to infant adoption in Alaska, there are many children awaiting a foster home and available for adoption. According to adoptuskids.org, there are 1,791 children in foster care, of these 488 are adoptable.
