Doped Up Doggie
Over a week ago, Tank stretched lazily out of his man-chair and started shaking uncontrollably. At first we thought he was having a seizure, but he was walking around and looking at us. Kinda freaky, so we turned to good ol' Google and discovered that ear infections in dogs cause head tremors. Easy enough to fix, so Bub took him to the vet the following day. The ear infection was confirmed and also an issue with cloudy eyes. The doc gave him ear drops, eye drops, and valium. What the foxtrot? Valium for a dog? Yep, we have to dope up our dog to keep him from scratching his ears and eyes. Tank likes to scratch his body parts against the rock fireplace and other caustic surfaces. So, yes, it was decided that he needed the valium.
The first day Bub gave him the valium, he ran around trying to scratch, then immediately passed out on the floor. Snoring, but healing dog, check. As I sit here, he is assed out next to my chair farting in his sleep. Awesome. How do we fix this problem now? Beano for dogs?
