House of 797 Projects

If you remember my post House of 800 Projects, then you know that we have a whole lot of crazy projects going on.  Actually, I mean that "I" have a lot going on...el husbando is not up to messing with my proposed projects.  Weird, I know?!  So...you notice that the project list has decreased by three, right? Awesome sauce!  Number one was the pirate room conversion to the man room.  I can't take any credit, el husbando did an amazing job turning the room into his own personal oasis.

Number two: the reading nook.  Holy smokes - this project took a bit longer to complete because we had to figure out how to cover up the backer board.  Solution - venetian plaster paint.  If you've never used it - try it. Amazing stuff. You apply with a putty knife and the finished product is beautiful.  Unless you let your amateur el husbando do it...then it comes out droopy like old lady boobs.  But that's another story - for another time.

Reading Nook Before (there were shelves in it, but I forgot to photograph before):

Reading Nook After:

Love, love, love this little space in the house! It's so cozy. Tank likes it too, but only if someone is sitting in it...then he gets a running start and dive bombs into it.  Good times.

Number Three: the most amazing dining room table EVER.  I've had my eye on the Ana White farmhouse table plan for awhile now, but my indecision was creating more procrastination.  But, boy am I lucky...my brother was in town for a week for a conference and I talked him into building this thing.  It took him a day total to get the materials, build it, burn it, and get it in the house. We tested it out on Saturday with game night...perfect!  :)

And a collage of table pics (can you tell I'm excited?!):
**Update: I forgot to mention that I got the 4x's at the Re-Store for $2/LF...amazing price for weathered 4x's!  :)

I should probably stop blogging and start working on the other 797 projects now. Happy Tuesday!
