Because Hoarding is Totally Cool Now...

...okay, it's not really. But I thought I could justify my "hoarding" situation. This weekend I discovered that I might just be a hoarder. Although I found this awesome e-card with a better moniker.  :) My husband and sister will disagree, I think my sister has accused me of being "one stack of shit away from being featured on Hoarders".  Bahahaha.

My discovery came when I needed to build something new for our shop and I couldn't find ANYTHING in my home workshop because _____.  This is where I could insert, "oh, I had to put everything in there for the home study" or "our bathroom was being remodeled and they needed everything out" and so on and so forth.  That's crap.  The truth is, I have SO MUCH stuff that I no longer have space for it.  For instance, my little friend Sammy was looking for wine bottles and I told her that I had "some".  Holy balls...I had over 100 empty bottles taking up space.  That's just plain silly.  Even if I was going to "repurpose" this shit, where would I put 100 newly repurposed bottles?! Edzachery!

Then I started moving boxes around and discovered that I have fabric from high school in my fabric stash...um, I graduated from HS almost 20 years ago. WTF!? Oh yes, it's "vintage" now.  :)  Ooh, I got really excited when I found a box that I've been hoarding since 1992...this I know, because there was a box of "candy" still intact from my folks' visit to Japan in 1992.  Bad, bad...

And yes...I found drawers/totes/etc. of "containers, corks, empty spools, etc. that are at least ten years old.  I've just been "meaning" to do something with them all of these years, but really I've just moved them from house to house. I'm kind of surprised that el husbando hasn't been stealthily removing stuff. Or maybe he has?

But there were also some fabulously meaningful pieces discovered in my hoarding paradise, like several of our Grandma Nonie's famous handmade greeting cards {tear}. Regardless of the wonderful finds in the hoarder's nest - it's probably time to start purging. I see a kick-ass garage sale in my future...hope you're ready to take my old "treasures" off my hands!

Happy Monday!
