Peanut Butter and Bacon!

There was this one time, 31 years ago...when my little brother and I were sitting at home awaiting the arrival of our new little sister, our Dad was feeding us a meal that would change our lives. Okay, not really...but it's still really funny looking back. Imagine this...a four year old and six year old sitting at a shiny Formica kitchen table, looking at bowls of chili and PEANUT BUTTER AND BACON sandwiches. We were young, we didn't know any better...I mean seriously, what was he thinking?!

It doesn't matter what he was thinking - he is/was a GENIUS! I can still remember the amazing deliciousness of the PBB sandwich! Wowza. To properly make the peanut butter and bacon sandwich, you have to do the following:

1. Gather two pieces of bread, 3-4 strips of bacon, and peanut butter (Dad used the crunchy, I like the creamy)
2. Cook your bacon to your liking...I like mine crispy, almost to the point of burnt.
3. Toast your bread lightly...not too crisp.
4. Spread the peanut butter on both pieces of toast and add your strips of bacon
5. If you're so inclined, add some jelly or marshmallow cream...flutter-nutter-bacon - YES!
6. Enjoy with a big glass of milk, beer, etc.

FYI - the reason I can repeat these steps so fabulously? I did a mini speech presentation on the process in college. Yes, I love them that much! I should also note that our Dad NEVER, EVER cooked - ever. He was always working, but the rare times he made his specialty for us were amazing!

Back to the arrival of our little sister...we were SO EXCITED to have our own little munchkin. But then again, we were pretty excited about the peanut butter and bacon too. :)
