3 More DIY Gifts For Your SSF
It's now December 14th, which means we have about 10 days to get our sh*t together and finish Christmas gifts. I am way behind myself, with the exception of a box of gifts sent to WA. We leave town for Christmas, so you would think that I would be really organized and whatnot. Yeah...not me.
Last week I cut out the stockings for our "family", which also includes a couple of dogs and roommates. But that's as far as I got...they are sitting on the craft table - unfinished, unstuffed, unloved. No longer. That's the first task when I arrive home tonight. :) If I don't post photos tomorrow, send me hate mail. :) If I was really cool (and had an xmas tree), I would whip up one of these kick-ass ruffled tree skirts by Prudent Baby. Gorgeous! And super easy to follow instructions!
In order to make myself feel less disorganized and/or creative, I've gathered a couple more cool DIY gifts for those that might stop by this blog... :)
1. Freaking adorable coasters brought to you again by Prudent Baby (she's rad). Again, you only need to visit your craft store for mod podge and tiles (or you can get cheap chunks at Lowe's). Kam and I picked up some really cool greeting cards at the "greatest garage sale of all time" a few years ago. I'm thinking these cutesy pie things will be fabulous on the coasters (or some really cool wood grain wrapping paper). ;) Besides, Mod Podge is one of the coolest substances ever...(besides my beloved E6000).
2. Sock monkeys are classic cool. An easy to follow tutorial by Kristine Howard of web-goddess.org is located here. If I were to whip one of these up, I would definitely use mis-matched socks - mostly because the recipients would expect nothing less!
And you could even add a cutesy pie tutu to the sock monkey...find some tulle and work it up! Or a pirate sock monkey...with black yarn dreads and some baubles?! :)
3. And this my friends, is for my Wine Hoes! Trivets made of corks that used to hold delicious wine. Ahhh...a couple bottles of "Peanut Gringo" and you can whip one up. (this tute can also be used for a cork bulletin board).
I'm a big fan of cork anyway...they have fabulous rolls of it at the hardware store. I think it would be fun to make a bulletin board for a little princess I know...more on that later.
